crazipper writes "Next week, NVIDIA plans to release its R256 driver. It won't have 3D Vision Surround support, as expected, but it will enable hardware acceleration for the MVC codec. Tom's Hardware got an early look at the driver, along with a pre-release copy of PowerDVD 10 Ultra Mark II, for a round of Blu-ray 3D testing. In addition to benchmarking with hardware acceleration enabled and disabled (along with dual-, triple-, and quad-core CPUs), Tom's also walks through what it takes to enable Blu-ray 3D on a PC. For more on 3D video, check out this primer."
