babooo404 writes "In countries such as Japan, South Korea and Russia, Google isn't winning the search and search advertising battle. In Japan it's Goo, South Korean Naver is dominating and in Russia, portal site Yandex leads in search engine advertising. Newsweek has a look into some of these countries as well."

  • Google as a trusted US brand would
    allow the US gov to mess around with information in real time.
    To push a fake story up or hold back a search term until the spin was ready.

    But with different parts of the world using their own search technology,
    the USA might have to do some real work if it wants real time information dominance.
