KFW writes "C-Net is reporting that Microsoft is offering $31 a share (a 62% premium over Thursday's closing price) for Yahoo. In a letter to the board there is mention of earlier offers that had been rebuffed. This would be Microsoft's largest acquisition if the deal closes. I wonder what the DOJ will say?" To MS, the possibility of a future without big Windows and Office revenues must now be looking closer than they thought. They have big cash reserves, they want new product revenue streams, and with all their personnel, they can't seem to think of those products themselves. They tried plundering CompuServe's brains for MSNetwork and it didn't work.
Time to buy in a bunch of people with better internet marketing skills, by finding and buying a Big Internet Company.
