An anonymous reader writes "The author made a program that recorded 14 hours of browser memory usage. Safari 3.1, Firefox 3.0, a browser based on Firefox 3.0, Opera 9.5 and Internet Explorer 8 are compared. A million data points indicate that Firefox 3.0 has a surprising advantage over every other browser tested. These are real-world tests and not contrived benchmarks."
