I have a degree in journalism. I've been writing the code that makes Slashdot [slashdot.org] go since January 2000. I used to edit stories, primarily in the Apple section [slashdot.org].

I maintained MacPerl [macperl.org], and do lots of other Perl [pudge.net] modules. Mac OS was my primary OS for more than 15 years, and I currently do most of my work on Mac OS X.

I also do some music [pudge.net].

My PlayStation Network ID is pudgenet [playstation.com].

Olympics Over For Me

[ #209317 ]

I have to stop watching the Olympics now. I just heard this on the TV: "The games of the twenty-ninth Olympiad on the networks of NBC are brought to you ... by Walt Disney Pictures' new comedy 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua,' in theaters October third."

Having the Olympics under an evil regime like China is one thing, but advertising for the most insidiously evil movie of all-time is going too far.

  • ...Walt Disney is evil, or at least this [foxnews.com] AP writer is doing everything humanly possible to make readers think that.

You could dress up in a Chihuahua suit and go protest. Or try to convince Taco Bell to sue them for stealing their talking rat dog idea.

  • My first reaction when I saw a commercial for this movie was, "how fitting...it looks like a steaming pile of dog crap."

If I remember correctly, doesn't England have fairly stringent laws on false advertising? Wonder if they'll be able to call this movie a comedy over there without getting fined...
