Is this Nerd News because Senator Stevens was once in charge of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation?

Someone might want to tell poor kdawson that Senator Stevens hasn't been in charge of that committee for nearly two years.

you have demonstrated a complete lack of commitment to HP as a strategic partner and cost us a lot of money in the process,'

Then you should have stuck for what you believe and refused to sell underpowered vista machines.

Guess what, if you go to bed with Mike Tyson you will get raped, there's no point complaining afterwards.

Who in their right mind would even want to steal country music? You couldn't pay me enough to accept it legally.

Thank Nixon. Letting China nurse off our teat has done nothing but show them how to build they're own teat. Are they greatful? No. Now they're stealing the "Mother's Milk" we're loading the teat with. Fuck China!

Do you want to be ruled by a proper governement, or by money-making orginazations? If you don't want to be ruled by the latter, get f*cking up and f*cking do something about those f*ckers, protest, bring down the system, whatever, but don't sit on your lazy asses and make this all just happen, because before you know it your governement will be corporations, and NOBODY has anything to gain being ruled by corporations ruled by a few rich people, those people should never be allowed the power they have.

Screenshot-sm   Idle: Colossus of Rhodes To Be Rebuilt As Giant Light Sculpture 2008-11-18 01:01

from the seven-great-projects-of-the-world dept.

The people of Rhodes will once again be able to gaze upon one of the world's seven ancient wonders with the help of East German artist Gert Hof, and international funding. Like the original, the new Colossus will adorn an outer pier in the harbor area of Rhodes, and be visible to passing ships. Unlike the original Colossus, this one will be made of light. "We are talking about a highly, highly innovative light sculpture, one that will stand between 60 and 100 meters tall so that people can physically enter it," said Dr Dimitris Koutoulas, who is heading the project in Greece. "Although we are still at the drawing board stage, Gert Hof's plan is to make it the world's largest light installation, a structure that has never before been seen in any place of the world."

Screenshot-sm   Book Reviews: Ender in Exile 2008-11-17 14:42

from the read-all-about-it dept.

stoolpigeon writes "Orson Scott Card's work Ender's Game began as a novelette, which he says he wrote as a means of leading up to the full story he had developed, Speaker for the Dead. Ender's Game was published as a full novel in 1985, and won the Hugo and Nebula awards (as did Speaker for the Dead in '86 and '87). I think it is safe to say that Ender's Game is ensconced in its position as a science fiction classic. Now, 23 years later, Card has finished the first direct sequel to Ender's Game in his new novel Ender in Exile." Keep reading for the rest of JR's review.

You could offer a homeless man on the street a free sandwich, and if he had to walk a block to get it, Stallman wouldn't think it was free.

He'd also have to make it himself, and not use any sauce with a logo on the bottle.
