how can nobody see that this is STUPIDLY DANGEROUS and ABSURD?
Not only does the driver have to drive-without-driving, they also have to reverse-engineer the autopilot's intention from its actions, evaluate IN REALTIME whether said action is in line with (WHAT THE DRIVER HAS GUESSED TO BE) the autopilot's intentions *and* decide whether THIS course is better than what they -as a driver- would do.
