Twitch Temporarily Bans President Trump (theverge.com) 296

Twitch has temporarily banned President Donald Trump, in the latest surprise and high-profile suspension from the streaming service. Trump's account was banned for "hateful conduct" that was aired on stream, and Twitch says the offending content has now been removed. From a report: One of the streams in question was a rebroadcast of Trump's infamous kickoff rally, where he said that Mexico was sending rapists to the United States. Twitch also flagged racist comments at Trump's recent rally in Tulsa. "Like anyone else, politicians on Twitch must adhere to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We do not make exceptions for political or newsworthy content, and will take action on content reported to us that violates our rules," a Twitch spokesperson told The Verge. The statement was originally issued last year when Trump's channel was launched.

After voting Republican for 35 years, this year I will vote my first ever democratic ballot. Change must happen.

We drained one swamp and then filled it with an even more dirty swamp.

You didn't as much drain the swamp as invite the swamp monster [amazon.com].

I saw one quote about swamps: Individual politicians are judged positively on how much pork they can bring home. Politicians collectively are judged negatively on how much pork they allow.

Totally agree about the need for change. Voting for Biden won't accomplish it though.

But voting for Trump won't accomplish it, and it will make things much worse. Don't wait for a great candidate before you stop voting for the idiot. Baby steps to get out of the swamp.

        Step 1: Stop the bleeding
Step 2: Make Biden a one term president as well

      • As long as it stops the corrosion of existing functional government, that's change enough for now. First rule of problem solving: when you find yourself in a deep hole, put the fucking shovel down.

    • I thank you for at least seeing reason and voting for the better candidate, regardless of party affiliation. We need more people like you going to the polls in November. I too have been a moderate Republican in my voting trends for my adult life, but I find this particular iteration of Republican politics to be repugnant and disgusting, and continuing in the wrong direction.

The "Party of Lincoln" needs to realize that they are courting the same attitudes and institutions that Lincoln set this country on t

Why couldn't we ban him earlier with the impeachment?

I'm just sick of him streaming Dig-Dug all day. He's not very good at it.
  • He needs to be banned from FB, Insta as well. May be then out of frustration he will create an account on Communist Tiktok or stop using social media altogether and finally DO his job or return to golfing! Either of those outcomes will be better than now.

In his June 16, 2015 speech announcing his run for the presidency, Donald Trump said the following: [time.com]

When do we beat Mexico at the border? They’re laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. But they’re killing us economically.

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems.

Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people.

It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America, and it’s coming probably— probably— from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.

This is going to give him even more publicity and ammunition.

    • Maybe, but if he ends up being given the boot from other social media platforms, his ability to project that will be sharply curtailed.

  • Wait, what video game does he play? Tic Tac Toe?

Avoid strange women and temporary variables.
