Google Bans Stalkerware Ads (zdnet.com) 16
Google announced plans this week to ban ads that promote stalkerware, spyware, and other forms of surveillance technology that can be used to track other persons without their specific consent. From a report: The change was announced this week as part of an upcoming update to Google Ads policies, set to enter into effect next month, on August 11, 2020.
Examples of products and services that advertisers won't be able to promote via Google Ads anymore include:
1. Spyware and technology used for intimate partner surveillance including but not limited to spyware/malware that can be used to monitor texts, phone calls, or browsing history;
2. GPS trackers specifically marketed to spy or track someone without their consent;
3. Promotion of surveillance equipment (cameras, audio recorders, dash cams, nanny cams) marketed with the express purpose of spying.

How else can they keep their stranglehold on the government? I often wonder just how much dirt the FAG companies have on "public" servants (corporate servants these days, since corporations are the only Real People left).

Google does not make software allowing you to stalk someone else. It doesn't allow advertisers to do that either, it is extremely careful to prevent them getting access to anything more than highly aggregated data.
If you believe otherwise then you need to explain why Google would be giving away it's most valuable asset and destroying its own business, and why it hasn't gone bust due to cataclysmic stupidity yet.

Google should also control Youtube ads to prevent scams and predatory medicinal "cure" snake oil ads. I've been surprise at the garbage ads they allow.

I've been thinking about that a lot lately after I tried a seemingly iffy regimen and had extremely good and measurable results. I really doubt if there's an arbitrary rule set that can establish if treatment is plausible, implausible, or impossible. Beyond those that are flat out poison or require magic to be real of course. Even then, I can't help but remember Alton Brown telling me that small amounts of bleach and lemon juice can safely prolong the freshness of corn on the cob. Something about consuming

They are doing what any merchant does. They're shouting, "We're selling only the best fruits!!" while they are chasing off the flies with their hands.
It is unfair competition (Score:2)
Some spyware vendor should sue google for unfair competition. One of two biggest spyware vendors in the world (second is Apple) prevent smaller ones to do their humble advertising.
