This update, released in a blog post Wednesday, represents the biggest overhaul to its "requests for startups" since 2018. In a blog post Wednesday, YC Managing Director Dalton Caldwell described the requests as "ideas we'd want to see made real, in spaces that we believe will be important in the coming decades." Take out patents on space-launched killer robots with AI. If I can get past the prior art [wikipedia.org], I'll blackmail them for $billions. If they want to pay me a few $million now, I can shelve that plan. If they don't, they'll realize in a few years what a good deal they passed up. How'd I do?

I don't need a Time Machine, but will settle for FTL and fusion (assuming it doesn't cost more than solar .. right now Tokamak is looking like it will cost a shit-ton even if it works unless we advance 100x in automated manufacturing tech).
