The probe follows ProPublica reporting that revealed Microsoft offered free temporary upgrades of federal agencies' software licenses to include advanced cybersecurity features, leading to long-term contracts once the trial period ended. With Entra Id Microsoft will be able to control the access to every Windows computer in the world that hasn't been installed with a local account.
"Sorry, in order to access your data you need to pay $100/month".

And then it may also get hacked globally, like MS exchange online in 2021 (found out in 2023 and _not_ by Microsoft). Cool!

I just love how it shows in add/remove programs, but actually just reinstalls itself right away if you remove it.
There was a lawsuit about bundling IE decades ago. There needs to be another.
