"Macroeconomics is a branch of economics that deals with the performance, structure, behavior, and decision-making of an economy as a whole."

Or in this case, more like a hole, amirite? Tariffs away! BOOM BOOM BOOM

Is anyone else tired of winning yet?
    • Small price to pay for being the "hottest country" which the President has repeated several times, including recently to the King of England. Definitely not embarrassing and cringe.

If our new speech enforcement teams are are reading this please note i said *not* cringe and i *definitely* am not using sarcasm.

That would require them to make the connection. Most are not capable of that and critical media is slowly getting eliminated.

I'm pretty sure the DOGE checks will cover all these inconveniences when they arrive.
$205B split into checks for every American will be a holdover, until the new tariff checks are posted.
At the moment that is expected to be $171B this year, but will increase as the HOT economy stands up.
So a massive check every year!

Nobody will have to work anymore because China/Europe/India/Mexico and maybe 190 other countries are paying Americans to stay at home and get rich.
      It's a fairytale come true!!

Funny that these mysterious and unmentioned macroeconomic forces are only effected the US.

It's absolutely horrifying how so many of our country's companies and institutions are censoring what they're saying out of fear of our current administration. When has it ever been a rare thing for American companies to blame the government for things like this? It even happened in many instances when the government had no actual fault. Nowadays though everyone is afraid to do anything that might bring the wrath of Trump.

      • The more fuckwits who capitulate, the more pressure there will be on those who resist. This orange-utan is almost 80 years old and has spent his life eating like a child whose parents were out of town while doing as little exercise as possible. It's three more years at most - have some fucking self-respect and call his bullshit out for what it is. It's not like most Americans don't already know what's going on deep down inside.

Most Americans don't know jack about shit. Ignorance is a virtue here. Why are you trying to hard to read that, are you some kind of fag?

To be fair, most people know "jack about shit". The difference is who they listen too and that makes all the difference.

        • Hah hah. You think it's just 3 more years. That's cute.

It's not that I think he'll remain in the seat. I don't think he will. It's that it'll take a couple of decades to fix what has been done. And some things, like the destruction of the US dominance, will never be undone.

The one thing they really are doing well is making their changes systemic.

Form an outside perspective, I think the "American Century" coming to an end is a good thing. People became lazy. Everybody has to try harder now.

            • I'm an outside perspective as well. And I agree. I like the way things are shaking out. It's going to be rough... but positive.

Yes. Lets hope not too rough (as in WW3 or the like), but yes. It had to happen. And it will be be ultimately a good thing.

It's absolutely horrifying how so many of our country's companies and institutions are censoring what they're saying out of fear of our current administration.

A nice look at German history shows how that works. Companies have no backbone, no integrity and no honor. Individuals sometimes do, but most of them are not in positions to do anything or quickly get removed when they try to. See some late nigh shows in the US for recent examples.

a.k.a the Trump Tariffs. a.k.a Trumpflation.

    • a.k.a the Trump Tariffs. a.k.a Trumpflation.

Make it an Xbox game -- try to import things while avoiding / minimizing tariffs.
(Ironically, there will probably be a tariff on the game.)

    • Speak for yourself, I am planning to offset the costs by having my child work at the definitely opening USA Xbox factory opening next year.

a.k.a the Trump Tariffs. a.k.a Trumpflation.

Yep. They are just too afraid to say that.

  • Microsoft lost the console war. They may already have had their last Xbox hardware produced a while ago. And they probably think, "why not sell the rest of our stock at ever increasing prices to the few die-hard Xbox fans that will pay just anything?"
    • by gweihir ( 88907 )

Well, maybe. Come to think of, Microsoft lost every "war" where they had real competition. Hence them losing in the console space makes a lot of sense.

  • The problems around bird flu were solved ages ago, it was just good old fashioned collusion among the egg producers to keep prices high.

I'm not quite sure why Joe Biden didn't act. I get that he was old but he wasn't that far gone. I suspect he underestimated how big of an issue it would be and it is remarkably hard to enforce antitrust law in america. Plus Democrats are fucking obsessed with following process and procedure and any enforcement action would probably end up involving the doj and well, bid
  • They are just too afraid of the orange criminal to say so.

  • Didn't Microsoft fire a lot of employees due to AI? Won't these savings be passed to the customer?
