Amazon Takes Low-Cost Ecommerce Service Global (reuters.com) 7

An anonymous reader shares a report: Amazon on Friday expanded the reach of its low-cost ecommerce service to 14 additional markets and will call it Amazon Bazaar, as part of a push to compete with Chinese rivals including Shein and PDD Holding's Temu. The expansion of the service comes at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump's sweeping import tariffs are denting consumer sentiment, especially of lower-income groups, who are on a constant hunt for cheaper deals.

Those who call it low-cost either work for Amazon, are paid for Amazon or have never used Amazon to sell anything.

  • Apparently this is called Amazon Haul in the US, according to TFA, and it's been available in the US since 2024

i had never heard of it until just now, but clicking on it... it looks somewhat like aliexpress et al and the prices do seem lower. in the FAQ it says that things are shipped from overseas and that the buyer is the importer and that Amazon will "facilitate" the paying of tariffs...
    15 day return policy.

    interesting.

How many weeks are there in a light year?
