Jack Dorsey's Block has launched Buzz, an open-source workplace collaboration platform that combines messaging, project management, and software development workflows for teams of both humans and AI agents. Dorsey described Buzz as "a new groupchat platform for teams of people and agents of all sizes" that is "model-agnostic, decentralized, self-sovereign and open source." SmartCompany reports: According to the Buzz website, users can invite specialized AI agents into team chats, allowing them to collaborate with employees and even other AI agents. From there, they can reportedly move directly from discussions into planning, coding, pull requests and project management without switching between multiple applications.
Buzz also aims to replace parts of GitHub by bringing software development workflows directly into the platform. Teams can plan work, write code, review pull requests and manage Git projects without jumping between separate collaboration and development tools. [...] In practice, that means businesses aren't locked into a single AI provider. Organisations can self-host Buzz, customize it to suit their own workflows and choose whichever AI models best fit their needs.

Did some democratic voters vote in a republican primary? Possibly. I'm sure some did, especially in states that don't matter in the late primary process (i.e. Oregon). It could not have happened in every state, and it absolutely did not happen in the crucial early primary states where a victory is a lifeline for your campaign.

Things don't have to be as one-sided as you present them. It is clear that the people responsible for Trump winning the election are the people who voted for him. It is also clear that the DNC favoured Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders.

We're pretty close to a point where you can ask AI to make you the platform and tools you want and it just does that. Why would I pay for github or slack clones when it's been my experience that AI can craft a MVP in an hour long session and iterate on a more complete service as needed later.
Buying software is already dumb when we have open source. And now paying for a host of software is also going to be obsolete.

Yeah, kind of. Slack's good because it's well designed, looks good and works well. You won't move to a 'clone' of it because you'll lose all the integrations and apps you've got. Most shops I've worked at have loads of them - and that's hard to replicate somewhere else. Github's a bit the same - you can get git anywhere, but they've put some value-adds over the top. There are alternatives of course, but once you've started doing things like Github Actions, you're "sticky" on github.com.

Most comms software is better handled by a service. Email, chat, phone, etc. Let someone else deal with the problems of maintaining it. Almost everything else is worth discussing.

A good 2/3rd of the Slack apps at my job are in-house ones. And I wrote a few for Discord for my own personal use, I have make 6 hours invested into that project. And that was without any AI. With something like Claude or Copilot, it's a 30 minute job.
Slack is going to die pretty quickly. I don't see how it will survive. I say this even though the Fortune 500 I work for uses it for everything and have almost entirely abandoned email. It's just too easy to replace now, even with our technical debt. Because a
