Wikimedia, which is renowned for managing huge traffic on a low budget, will add 50 servers in Amsterdam to the 300 servers it houses in a Tampa data center. The Amsterdam site will be used for caching to reduce the response time of our Wikimedia websites in Europe, as well as for backing up data from Tampa. EvoSwitch uses power that is generated entirely from sustainable energy sources including, solar, wind and biomass."
