Singapore's Temasek Says It's Not Looking To Invest in Crypto Firms (cnbc.com) 9

Singapore's sovereign wealth fund Temasek is not currently looking to invest in crypto companies amid regulatory uncertainty in the sector, its Chief Investment Officer Rohit Sipahimalani said. From a report: "There's a lot of regulatory uncertainty in this environment. And I do think that be very difficult for us to make another investment and exchange in the middle of all this regulatory uncertainty," Sipahimalani told CNBC in a Tuesday interview. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged top U.S. crypto exchange Ripple for breaching local securities laws by selling its native token XRP without first registering it with the regulator.

Any time crypto is mentioned, we hear "success stories" that "i bought in 201x at $y", or "i lost z coins that would be worth $w if you crack my private key". It is all based on "getting in" at the "right time" to cash out, with electricity stolen to "mine" ponzi coins. There is no actual economic value being created, just scammers trying to scam other scammers. Nvidia is the most hated hardware company in the world right now, for betraying their gaming and content creator customers twice, once for crypto and then for ai, and then the stock market "rewarding" them with a trillion market cap. The experiments in digital anarchism for funding drugs and terrorists are the final nail in the coffin. I support some drug legalization, but it should be done through political reform not darknet markets.

, and insinuation that they are all the same and they all have the same failures.

Bitcoin and, debatably Ethereum, have technical, philisophical, and political values outside of your shallow "No intrinsic value" nonsense. Dogecoin is not Bitcoin. Bitcoin != NFTs.

Yes, they have the political value "Let's scam people out of money", th t3echnical value of an extremely inefficient method of storing data that's could be done more easily and with less resource usage at least a thousand ways, and the philosophy of a 12 year old edgelord who was just given a copy of Atlas Shrugged. There is no value in any of it.

    • Any time crypto is mentioned, we hear "success stories" ...

Las Vegas and the Lottery only advertise "success stories". I think Las Vegas is fundamentally more honest than crypto bros because at least they play a straight game, even if the odds aren't exactly in your favor.

An adequate bootstrap is a contradiction in terms.
