The following is a press release from Holly Robinson of Metro Link Inc

The XFree86 Project Inc. and Metro Link Inc. are pleased to announce the addition of Stuart Anderson to the XFree86 Core Team.

Anderson, a Metro Link employee, has long been a contributor to the XFree86 code base. His work on the software that Metro Link has donated over the years has helped streamline and modularize the XFree86 source code. As a member of the Core Team, Anderson will be intimately involved with the development, design, and decision making process as the evolution of XFree86 continues.

"Stuart has a clear grasp of XFree86's long-term goals," said Garry M. Paxinos, Vice President of Metro Link. "This, coupled with his clean and concise programming skills, make him a valuable addition to the Core Team. We are happy to share his expertise with the XFree86 Project."

"Our Core Team is responsible for the technical direction of XFree86," said David Dawes, President of The XFree86 Project. "Stuart's long and valued assocation with XFree86 and Metro Link's significant technical contributions to XFree86 development make him a natural choice for our expanded Core Team."

The addition of Anderson to the Core Team further strengthens the relationship between Metro Link and the XFree86 Project. Metro Link, a commercial provider of X Window System software for Linux and many other operating systems, is committed to the Open Source community and well known for their many technological donations to the XFree86 source code. They have participated in the development of XFree86 since 1993.

The XFree86 Project Inc. is a non-profit corporation whose primary charter is to design, implement, and distribute as free software an implementation of the X Window System for many UNIX(R) and UNIX-like operating systems. All products of The XFree86 Project are freely available and freely redistributable.
