Samsung has layed out a probable roadmap of their plans for the Alpha. Highlights include 1GHz+ in 2000 on a .18um fabrication process. Pricing is expected to be competive with the 400MHz Pentium II.

After dropping Cyrix from their fabs last week, IBM has agreed to fabricate chips for IDT, who is collaborating with AMD on MMX-like instructions that Intel will NOT adopt. I suppose it's sorta cool- good developers won't be affected, and consumers will recognize Intel has significant competition- do you?
