Sprint opens new network

Sprint announced an entire new 2$US billion network. Sprint has traditionally been a long distance provided, but this new project, code named Project FastBreak will supposdly allow "speeds 100 times faster then current modems and long distance phone prices 70% cheaper." Additionally, the lines are supposed to allow fax, modem, talking et al at the same time.

Has anyone else heard anything about this? It seems a bit farfetched that they suddenly announce that they have done this.
